Module descriptions
Strategies module
The main focus of the Antwerp team is on lobbying strategies.
This includes the study of all influence seeking political activities of interest groups, such as the information they prioritize when they address policy makers and how they are involved in coalition building. As in the other modules, we consider information as a key ingredient in the lobbying process. The information available to groups affects their strategic behavior, because strategies differ in terms of the information that can be transmitted. Insider strategies can be particularly useful for the transmission of detailed operational and technical information, while outsider strategies inform policy makers on the size and the scope of political conflict.
Within INTEREURO the Antwerp team is responsible for the media-archive and coding, the face-to-face interviews with Brussels-based lobbyists and the coordination of the overall project.
